The drought across the south this year has decreased cow numbers drastically. We are seeing record calf prices. For those who survived the drought without having to de-stock very much there are good times ahead.

We decided to keep our spring born calves longer than we usually do. If we can survive the winter with the hay that we have I feel like this spring the extra money we put into the calves will pay us back and more.

Every evening when I check the calves I start to think. I see them just going about their lives eating, drinking, resting, ect.  I know their gain depends on me and the decisions I make for them. I am holding them right now, because they will be worth more later on when I choose to move them.

Our relationship with God is no different. He puts us where he wants us and keeps us there until he decides. It is a hard thing for us to grasp and agree with because it is our nature to want to think for ourselves. The trials, pain, and the tough family situations, all of it is to grow us.

Our ability to wait and know He is in control is directly related to our trust in Him. Psalm 27:14 says “Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart. Wait I say on the Lord!”

He will move us, but only when He decides and when He does, it will be in a way where He gets the most glory.
