God's Counrtry Cowboy Church held its first service on September 14, 2010 in a small pavillion at the old Indian Hospital. Services were held there until December. We were given an invitation to use the old feed store in town and have been there ever since. The vision of our cowboy church is to provide an environment that welcomes all walks of life, and share the power of Jesus Christ to those that may not feel comfortable in traditional church. We started out as an outreach one night a week on Tuesdays. The Lord has continued to bless us, and we have added a Sunday morning worship service also, forming as an established church in November 2011, afilliated with The Southern Baptist Convention, The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, and the Leflore Baptist Association.
We are a church that is on the move. We are commited to reaching the Talihina area, without guilt or pressure, just love. We host a number of outdoor and arena activites throughout the year. Our services are held in an old barn, so we are not really worried about what clothes you wear to church. We are very informal, and we always eat whenever we get together! On Tuesday nights, we have potluck after the service. On Sunday mornings, we have coffee and breakfast during the service.
We offer a nursery and childrens church during our regular services. Every church says it, but we really are family here, and would love for you to be a part of it.
